Public Sector Diversity Training

Public sector diversity training is an exciting new e-learning course which addresses the public sector equality duties on race, gender and disability.

These duties require organisations to pre-empt discrimination and promote equality across all their functions and activities.

The emphasis on this course is on equality rather than diversity i.e. that we cannot ignore the fact that lots of statistics show that some groups are still disadvantaged or experience discrimination, and something needs to be done about it.

The public sector duties are about being proactive in addressing/eliminating discrimination and bringing about change, rather than abstract discussion about what diversity is.

This course also has a clear emphasis on equality/diversity in service delivery as well as in employment. - in fact it's probably more focussed on service delivery than employment. Recognising that public sector organisations need to ensure that their services are inclusive, appropriate and responsive to different sections of the community, as well as addressing issues like their staffing profile and the workplace environment.

This course has been developed especially for the public sector and recognises that many staff are more interested and more engaged in a best-practice rather than a compliance approach.

This course comes with the Marshall ACM learning management system which enables an organisation to demonstrate which staff have been trained.

Marshall ACM also take responsibility for ensuring that this course is keep updated as legislation changes.
