Barnardos, Child Protection Training

Bond Pearce LLP, one of the 40 legal firms to sign up to the Law Society's new diversity charter, has made diversity training available online for its 80 partners, 291 other lawyers and 269 support staff. Specialist online diversity training provider, Marshall ACM, created a 40 minute course to introduce the concepts of diversity, equality and equal opportunities.

A diversity forum set up by Bond Pearce identified that e-learning would act as a gateway to other training initiatives, so staff across all offices understand issues and best practice to meet the needs of the expanding business.

Firms committed to the Law Society's Charter will annually publish detailed statistics on diversity, including age, gender, sexuality, ethnic background and religion of employees, which require signatories. Centrally, the firm will be able to monitor individual completion rates and allocate additional courses with the Marshall ACM solution.

Martin Nichols, Learning and Development Advisor for Bond Pearce, explains, "Our commitment to diversity goes back a long time. Our vision is to be a great place to work where we value the differences in people and maximise their potential. Frankly, achieving this is vital to the future of Bond Pearce and something each of us needs to be committed to. Adding Marshall ACM's online course helps commit to best practice equality and diversity practices."

David Marshall, MD of Marshall ACM, sums up, "The work that Bond Pearce is doing to educate their staff goes far beyond showing compliance with the Solicitor's Regulatory Authority. Slick, to the point and meaningful, Bond Pearce's training course explains just what their employees need to know in relation to their own firm, customers, colleagues and market."
