Vulnerable Adult E-Learning

This programme provides staff with an awareness of the legislation and Government policy supporting the protection of vulnerable adults.

The programme uses a range of methods to provide a framework to develop individuals understanding and confidence in dealing with this difficult issue. These include quizzes, web links and a final assessment quiz.

The programme aims to provide underpinning knowledge to enable staff to:-

Understand what is meant by the term 'Vulnerable Adults'

Understand what is meant by abuse

Understand their rights under the Public Disclosure Act (1998) (Whistle blowing)
Provide the underpinning knowledge to enable staff to:-
- Contribute to and take necessary action to safeguard vulnerable adults
- Identify indicators of abuse
- Be able to report concerns
- Be able to deal with disclosures of abuse and immediate incidents
- Know how to access support
- Ensure that appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Write a report of an incident
